PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil is a beautifully fragrant botanical essential oil obtained through steam distillation of the flowers of Cananga odorata, a tropical flowering tree belonging to the Annonaceae family.

The Ylang Ylang tree is recognized for its fragrant yellow-green flowers, which develop a rich, sweet aroma as they mature.

Native to tropical regions of Southeast Asia, Ylang Ylang is now cultivated in several tropical locations, including Madagascar.

This particular variety originates from Madagascar, where the flowers are harvested and processed to produce aromatic essential oils.

Ylang Ylang is especially interesting because its essential oil is traditionally collected in several fractions during distillation.

These fractions are commonly identified as Extra, I, II, and III.

Each fraction has a different aromatic character because the proportions of volatile compounds change throughout the distillation process.

Ylang Ylang Grade III is collected during a later stage of distillation.

Compared with earlier fractions, it generally offers a softer, less intensely floral fragrance.

Its aromatic profile remains distinctly sweet, exotic, and floral, but with a more restrained character.

This makes Ylang Ylang particularly attractive for manufacturers seeking a recognizable tropical floral fragrance without the intensity of Ylang Ylang Extra.

The oil contains naturally occurring germacrene-D, a sesquiterpene hydrocarbon found in various aromatic plants.

Germacrene-D contributes to the chemical composition and aromatic complexity of this particular variety.

The supplier identifies germacrene-D at approximately 15–34%.

Other naturally occurring aromatic compounds contribute additional floral, sweet, woody, and subtly balsamic characteristics.

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil is widely appreciated in fine fragrance manufacturing.

Its elegant tropical fragrance complements citrus essential oils, delicate florals, and deeper woody ingredients.

It is particularly attractive in botanical perfumes, luxury body oils, moisturizing creams, and professional spa products.

In haircare, Ylang Ylang is often selected for its beautiful floral fragrance, especially in conditioning products and premium salon collections.

Its aroma creates a distinctive sensory experience that complements the conditioning benefits supplied by the finished formulation's other ingredients.

Today, Ylang Ylang Essential Oil is valued by cosmetic manufacturers, natural perfumers, professional spas, and botanical fragrance developers seeking a softer expression of this celebrated tropical flower.
