The "Hero" Ingredient(s)
- 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) — Primary hero. This is what gives the product its Vitamin C identity. It provides antioxidant support and targets the appearance of dullness, uneven tone and loss of radiance. Its improved stability compared with traditional L-Ascorbic Acid is also a major formulation/marketing advantage.
- Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) — Co-hero. It broadens the serum beyond Vitamin C by supporting the skin barrier, more even-looking tone, smoother texture and overall skin appearance. This is strong enough to feature prominently on the front of the product.
- Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid) — Hydration hero. It provides the recognizable hydration component, helping bind moisture and give skin a hydrated, smoother and plumper-looking appearance.
Science Behind this Formula
- A multi-pathway brightening and hydration serum formulated with 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Niacinamide and Sodium Hyaluronate to support brighter, smoother and more even-looking skin. Unlike traditional L-Ascorbic Acid, which is highly susceptible to oxidation from exposure to light, air and heat, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid is an etherified Vitamin C derivative with improved stability, making it better suited to water-based formulations and helping maintain formula performance over a longer period when properly formulated, preserved and packaged. It also allows the serum to be formulated at a more skin-friendly pH rather than the highly acidic environment typically required for L-Ascorbic Acid. Niacinamide complements the Vitamin C system by supporting the skin barrier and improving the appearance of dullness, uneven tone and texture, while Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin and Propanediol attract and retain moisture for a hydrated, plumper-looking complexion. A botanical complex of Bilberry, Sugar Cane, Sugar Maple, Orange, Lemon and Cucumber provides additional antioxidant and skin-conditioning support, resulting in a lightweight, water-based serum designed to deliver lasting hydration, radiance and visibly more even-looking skin with greater formulation stability than a traditional L-Ascorbic Acid serum.
